MDF Fabrication 101
Advantages
- Consistent density and smooth surface for easy cutting and shaping
- Cost-effective and more affordable than natural wood

- Resistant to termites and other insects due to chemical treatment
Limitations
- Heavy and dense, making it challenging to handle and transport
- Not water-resistant, prone to swelling and damage when exposed to moisture
- Cannot hold screws and nails as well as natural wood
- Contains formaldehyde, a harmful chemical that can be released during cutting
- Less durable than natural wood, prone to cracking and splitting under stress
